Drag Coefficient #
The drag coefficient judges the amount of resistance a given shape feels, with lower being better. However, drag coefficient doesn’t take into account the size of the object, so even a body with a low drag coefficient but with a massive frontal area
The Tesla Semi vs Bugatti thing can be misleading to those without an understanding of how its computed.
The semi truck’s frontal area is many times larger than the Bugatti, so it still sees a much larger drag force.
The drag coefficient is essentially a matter of how little drag something produces ‘for what it is’. Drag Area is a better representation.
Show 4 objects that all see the same drag force.
